A clear focus
It was thanks to the British researcher Tim Berners-Lee that the web came into being in 1991. He was the first to introduce the concept of the “web page”. Equipped with hypertext links, navigation from one page to another becomes child's play.

How do we use the net today?
Since 2004, Web 2.0, also known as the “participatory social web”, has become part of our lives. Today more than ever, we can confirm that we are all internet consumers, part of our daily lives.
Our era has brought changes in the way we use these tools. We are a “connected” generation thanks to the various social networks we know today.
Websites have also evolved from being a place to present a product or inform users, to interacting with companies directly through their platform, giving feedback, and even creating discussion forums.
Companies can also run advertisements, which has become the key way to increase their brand awareness. The net evolution is spreading on a grand scale.
What can we expect ?
The web world is still in a period of transition, and will be essentially user-driven. Several web giants such as Meta (parent company of Facebook), Google and Apple have appropriated all the personal data of consumers, without the latter having any power over it.
The aim of Web 3.0 would be to decentralize data and give power back to the consumer so that they themselves can transport their data from one service to another.
Web 3.0 will be built on the principle of a blockchain, which would allow the creation of financial assets in the form of tokens, for example, that would ensure the internal functioning of each service.
The platforms will be managed exclusively by communities of users. Each user would therefore have their own personal account, where they would be able to create their own blockchain to record their activity. It will also be possible to participate in these new platforms and benefit from them.
